For several years, too many to recall; there has been a dip in the culture reservoir and lucky for all of you the Corktown Music Festival is here to fill it. This Saturday July 24, 2010 in Roosevelt Park Detroit, abundant souls will gather to benefit from this third annual day of music together.  Starting at high noon, with the support of Detroit International Lions Club, The DO Foundation, Spin Detroit, Maiden Detroit, 4th Horizon Beatlovaz, festival founder Quietdown Press; plus you, me and everyone else~ numerous artists, musicians and DJs will take to three stages to perform. The closing will be at ten o’clock. Admission is free. Many vendors and booths will be on hand that you may purchase goods and merchandise. There will be a 'Kid’s Tepee' surrounded with activities for all ages. Also if you haven’t heard, this is a pet friendly event (please review guidelines). There are no excuses to simply come and enjoy yourself. Plus, you can bring your own “funkishing” [items you would not mind giving away] to relax and chill in a tailor-made home environment surrounded by the very best people and great music.

CORKTOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL’s master of ceremonies for the Raise the Flag stage will be Ali the Unifier.

In our Revolution Area, we will have a community drum circle, martial arts, kids’ activities, Abida Blaze Belly Dancers, representatives from the Detroit Circus and Fire Guild, the infamous styles of orange Sperm & even the Detroit Projection Project (DPP) with projections going onto the Michigan Central Station starting at dusk. Our music in this area will include Lauren M. Lynley PRIDE Artist with Ophelia's Revenge (acoustic set with speical guest festival founder Xi Walls on Tambourine), Soul Water, Aaron Aktins, SPIN DETROIT Progressive DJ Hannie, JShaw, Guy LaFleur/ Todd Weston of HOT POT, and infamous Mike 'Agent X' Clark with Detroit Diva Jackie Green.
